Lamiya Cotton

Hello! My name is Lamiya Cotton, a current sophomore at the University of San Francisco studying Communication Studies. I have recently started working alongside Quilt’s social media team! I am assisting with deadlines, content creation, and overall anything that revolves around planning and posting for online platforms. I normally gravitate towards hands-on jobs and have usually found jobs that surround the arts to be the most fun. I recently worked at Old Navy Headquarters as a Marketing Intern to create a campaign toward Old Navy’s Imagine Mission Pillars. This goes hand in hand with what I do outside of school as well. I myself am a content creator/digital creator, so I frequently work with brands to promote products via User Generated Content, and try to stay on brand with the latest trends that fit my niche. I feel like this makes me qualified to work with Quilt as I have found trends, platforms, and different ways to grow my own social media and I can apply those skills to a different team and with a different niche! For Quilt, I plan to assist with first growing followers and gaining exposure for the brand itself so we can establish a name and platform for the magazine. For the next few years, I would like to gain more knowledge of Quilt and what we are trying to establish as a multimedia platform, and see what works well on various social platforms in efforts to gain and attract more consumers.
